Mediconsult, having built a strong position in Finland’s wellbeing services counties with its Saga solutions, is expanding its operations to Sweden. On 1 October 2026, Mediconsult established a subsidiary in Stockholm, Sweden.
Sweden is one of the largest healthcare and social care markets in the Nordic region, and many municipalities and regional authorities are currently modernising their case management systems and operational management solutions.
For a long time, Mediconsult has been engaged in discussions with Swedish social care providers, where a growing demand for modern, user-centred information systems has been clearly identified. Ongoing reforms in Swedish social care, combined with increasing requirements for service quality, effectiveness and information management, are driving the need for advanced digital solutions.
The Mediconsult Saga® product family is a fully browser-based solution built on a cloud-based platform, enabling a modern user experience. Its contemporary architecture allows social care organisations to develop and adapt their operations flexibly as service requirements evolve.
“Our goal is to establish a strong position in the Nordic social care software market. By combining more than 50 years of expertise, a fully browser-based technology platform, and extensive experience working with Finland’s wellbeing services counties, I see excellent opportunities to build a significant business in Sweden as well,” says Tommi Salaspuro, EVP, International Business at Mediconsult.
“We want to help Swedish social care organisations improve service effectiveness, equality of access and the daily work of professionals through our modern operational management solutions,” he continues.
In its initial phase, the Swedish subsidiary will focus on providing operational management solutions for social care and home care services. The company is already actively participating in procurement processes currently underway and is building a local expert organisation in Sweden to support future customers.
